Abstract: This paper describes an economic analysis of CRP. It describes the impacts on the agricultural sector (increase in net farm income), consumer costs (increase in commodity prices), and natural resource effects (decreases in soil erosion, increases in soil productivity and water quality). The authors determine that the present value of net benefits for a 45-million-acre CRP could range from $3.4 to $11.0 billion.
