Abstract: Avian abundance was compared among various land uses in southern Wisconsin during winter. Species diversity was highest in crop fields followed by restored prairie and CP2. Avian abundance was highest in pastures followed by restored prairie and CP2. No birds were observed in CP1. Abundance was higher in crop fields and native prairie when there was incomplete snow cover.
