About the Center
The Center for Native Grasslands Management (CNGM) will be the catalyst for development of native grass management systems and communities that can improve farms, forests, rural economies, and habitat for grassland wildlife such as the northern bobwhite.
CNGM will develop the scientific foundation needed to foster the economically viable incorporation of native warm season grasses into forage and biofuels production systems, and restore native grassland communities across Tennessee and the eastern United States. The response of grassland dependent and other wildlife species to these practices will also be studied. These goals will be achieved by a combined research and outreach program.
